STEAM week at NCCA kicked off on Friday, March 8!  This year's theme was Outer Space, and students thoroughly enjoyed STEAM activities, the field trip to the Carnegie Science Center, and STEAM Family Night.  All our academic teachers were involved in teaching STEAM lessons to different age students; it was fun to see middle school students learning about dehydrated “space food" in Kindergarten, and the younger students had a “blast” going to the middle school science lab where they were able to experience what it is like for astronauts to sit in a space capsule.

Wednesday was our middle school science fair.  Classes visited the fair and our middle school students presented their research projects and science experiments.  Our middle school students also presented their projects at the STEAM Family Night, where parents were encouraged to vote for their favorite presentation.

STEAM week concluded on Thursday with more STEAM activities, class space-relay competitions and the STEAM Family Night.
