High Fives! Making the Transition to Kindergarten Fun!

NCCA’s High Fives! class is designed for students who need another year before entering Kindergarten and for students who miss the Kindergarten cut-off date.  High Fives!, which meets five days a week from 8:30 to 1:30, provides students with an additional year to develop fundamental skills necessary for success in elementary school.

The High Fives! curriculum builds upon concepts learned in a Pre-K program.  Through learning centers and hands-on activities, students learn to work cooperatively as they develop confidence and competence in:

  • Phonics
  • Handwriting
  • Math
  • Bible
  • Science
  • Social studies
  • Social skills
  • Problem solving

Bible stories and their life applications, scripture memory work, faith-focused ‘projects’ and music are incorporated into daily instruction.  In addition, students participate in Chapel, Music, Gym, Library, World Cultures, Computer and Art classes each week.
